Joanne and Will postponed their wedding to February 2021 after having to cancel their original date
back in April 2020 when the 1st Lockdown happened. Towards the end of November they both decided to hell with it and they brought their day forward to the 19th December. With no one having a clue what awaits us in 2021, Joanne and Will decided to make the most of a bad situation.
Let's get re planning then!!!
With their guest list just down to 15, they changed venues from a barn wedding to something that would be cosier and quaint. I'd never been to The Star Inn at Harome, it's over an hours drive, it's a beautiful venue. Think, cosy leather arm chairs with a roaring fire, the staff are so helpful and approachable.
The Ceremony was in the wheel house, which is then transformed into the Reception. Me and Joanne, chatted about how the florals and hire out items could be re used through out the day. The wooden lanterns lined the edge of the aisle filled with fake snow and l.e.d. Candles, with petite Christmas Tree's in ceramic white and gold speckled pots finished off with a cluster of gold baubles. Pine cones were then scattered sporadically around the edges to keep within the theme.
The wheelhouse has a stunning original wooden beam going across the room, we dressed this with Berried Holly, Vera gated Holly, Eucalyptus, Ruscus and dyed blue
Asparagus Fern, which finished it off beautifully giving it that 'pop'.
The Massive Table which was used for the Reception seated every guest (it's SOOO big) we re used a few of the Wooden Lanterns, the petite Christmas Tree's and added large and small Wooden Slices which would create varying heights, with an abundance of gold and glass tea light holders, luscious green Moss to mimic a forest floor. Sprigs of foliage, dried orange slices, pinecones and dried whole limes were used to add texture. It was perfect for the size of the table, however it still left plenty of room for the sharing food platters.
Joanne had originally chosen a pale blue colour scheme for their April wedding, with it being December, we still kept the pale blue but we introduced Burgundy and Red to the palette. I think this worked beautifully, especially against the Bridesmaids dresses. The Bridesmaids has a smaller version of Joanne's bouquet, all bouquets were finished off with a trailing chiffon silk ribbon, which in my opinion you just cant beat. Hair combs finished off the Bridesmaids look perfectly with their loosely styled buns by Kelly Hanks Hair Design.
The only thing Will had specified was he'd like mini pinecones in the buttonholes, which I think was a lovely idea and worked so well, I also incorporated the mini pinecones in the Bridesmaids hair combs.
So if you're still undecided to go for it, I think Joanne an Will prove it can be done in a short space of time. Joanne had commented how it wasn't the day they'd originally planned, but considering everything they couldn't of asked for a better day and wouldn't of changed a thing.
We also added some finishing touches to the wedding cake that Joanne and her sister Amy made, looks delicious don't you think?
Testimonial, Joanne, December 2020
